Introduction

The British Antarctic Territory Strategy sets the main objectives and funding priorities for the territory and is reviewed annually and updated as appropriate. The BAT Administration funds a number of projects each year across 4 priority areas: environmental protection and minimising human impacts; education and outreach; heritage; governance and promoting UK sovereignty.

The Union Flag flies at the former base at Port Lockroy, now run in summer as a museum and post office by the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust.
