As part of their management and monitoring responsibilities for the Ramsar Site, Alderney Wildlife Trust has been experimenting with new technologies to aid their survey efforts. Most recently they have used drones over the sea to monitor seal and seabird populations. Once mastered, it is hoped that this technology will enable the Trust to survey areas which cannot ordinarily be reached, increasing knowledge and survey accuracy.
