Research has been carried out on the male hatchling production in sea turtles from the Chagos Archipelago, as it one of the biggest marine reserves in the world. The research specifically focused on the hatchling sex ratios of the hawksbill turtles and the green turtles by examining their nesting grounds; for example the sand temperatures at nest depths. The data from the Chagos Archipelago were then compared with measurements at colonies in the Atlantic and Caribbean. |
