The Connect Chagos project began in 2012 by the Chagos Conservation Trust and ZSL. It aimed to increase environmental awareness within the Chagossian communities that are based in UK in order to contribute to the future conservation of the Chagos Archipelago. ZSL organised environmental training courses over the summer for people who wanted to learn about bird monitoring, habitat management and climate change and marine conservation in Chagos Archipelago.
