Dolphins, sharks and rays are all marine species that can be observed in Jersey’s waters. Examples include the bull huss Scyliorhinus stellaris and the tope Galeorhinus galeus, both species of shark. While some species are less frequently seen, the bottlenose dolphin is a local resident, with a pod consisting of over 250 dolphins living in the waters surrounding the island. This is the largest pod in Europe. This species can grow up to 3-4 metres. Click here to see a video of some of the incredible marine species in Jersey waters.
