Tourism for wildlife.  Cyprus is a haven for bird life and home to a huge variety of plant species.  The island’s flora comprises about 1,628 indigenous taxa, many of which can be found (in the Republic) on the two mountain ranges of Troodos and Pentadactylos, Paphos forest and the Akamas peninsula.  There are well over 200 introduced plant taxa on the island, many of which were brought from places such as Latin America, China and Australia.
