In September 2018, nine more marine nature reserves were established, bringing the total to 10. The Isle of Man has committed to ensure that at least 10% of the Island’s coastal and marine areas are conserved by 2020. The reserves will cover 10.4% of the Island’s territorial sea and 50.4% of the inshore waters which contain the highest diversity of species and habitats.
